Welcome to the Esencias Panameñas Team

Esencias Panameñas Restaurant & Catering is seeking individuals with previous experience in a full service restaurant and bar that will strive to exceed our guests' expectations and provide them with nothing less than extraordinary dining experience.  The candidate will become knowledgeable of Panama’s history and gastronomy so as to be able to explain and guide guests in order to positively experience the Esencias Panameñas’ Panamanian Cuisine concept.

The following position is available at this time:
  • Servers/Bartenders - Full/Part Time positions available - must be able to work weekends.


Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Become knowledgeable of all the items the restaurant and bar has to offer (food, beverages, Panama holiday specials) and its components (decor, about the Chef/Owner)
  • Ability to explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. Able to answer questions about food allergies 
  • Demonstrate genuine hospitality and always provides a warm, friendly and immediate greeting to all guests, and presents positive first and last impression for all guests
  • Anticipate and address guests service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation        
  • Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems
  • Ensure that alcohol is served in a responsible and safe manner
  • Set up and maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools.
  • Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks
  • Maintain bar stocked with liquor and supplies, including ice, glassware and paper supplies
  • Transport supplies to bar set-up area
  • Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs
  • Process all payment methods
  • Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas
  • Complete closing duties
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
  • Complete safety training and certifications
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees
  • Control guest checks and secure proper paymentChampion and adhere to all company high standards and policies, including restaurant cleanliness and sanitation, and employee Code of Conduct, attendance, uniform and appearance policies
  • Respect for fellow employees and guests
  • Follow health and safety procedures in accordance with city, state and federal requirements
  • Performs other duties as required or directed by Manager and Chef/Owner


  • Knowledge of Spanish with the ability to enunciate all food and beverage names in Spanish correctly
  • Must be at least 21 years of age; and  at minimum possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least two years of Bartender experience in a full service restaurant and bar
  • Must be TIPS certified
  • Must have an outgoing personality that commands a welcoming presence on the dining room floor and bar area
  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both spoken and written
  • Ability to take direction and work in a team environment
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized
  • Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours in length and be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, standing, sitting, or walking for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
